La Brea Tar Pits- Museum Day

Having grown up in Los Angeles I am partially ashamed to admit that I had never been to the La Brea Tar Pits. It was on our summer to do list and since we’re members now at the Natural History Museum, we get into the Tar Pits for free. It was great and an easy museum you can complete in half a day. We packed our lunches and went with some friends and had a great outing.

You will notice how in the photos Greta separates herself from the pack of boys ever so slightly. It cracked me up when I loaded all the photos since I didn’t notice it at the time. Her two preschool teachers have already commented on her toughness and ability to handle herself. They have commented on her confidence and independence. Wonder where she gets that from! This girl may be girly but she can stand up for herself!

The actual tar is all fenced around and impossible to get to, but somehow Sawyer found the only patch not fenced and ended up with tar all over his hands and arms. Fortunately inside the museum they have a jar of goo to take it off.
