It was that time of year again last week, where my family travels to Ojai for some R&R and family time. The light this time of year is gorgeous. I know I say this no matter what time of year we go, even when we travel there in the summertime, but there’s something about fall there. The colors of the leaves, the bike paths, the mountains with snow on their tops. Just breathtaking. The sweaters we bundle up in at night time. Although this year we had an unusually warm day where we even got to break out our swimsuits which I pack always ‘just in case’. Because the one year we thought there’s no way we would swim, we had to buy swimsuits. We rode our bikes, visited the Santa Barbara Zoo, convinced my kids to indulge me in a photo shoot, shot Romeo’s 10 month photos, read two books, enjoyed massages at the spa, ate delicious food, I could go on. But you get the point. I will do posts here and there with our highlights. Here’s some of the scenery that I can’t get over when we are there.
I don’t know about all of you, but I was not looking forward to Monday this week. After a very relaxing, sleeping in, and non chore doing vacation, Monday is extra hard to face. But alas, lunches needed to be packed, children fed, and homework completed. Dishes to be washed, and laundry to be put away. Back to the grind. So if you’re having a little difficulty with your Monday as well, here’s a photo that put a smile on my face, and hopefully will do the same for you.
@amharju is my Instagram username, if you’re on there, let me know your name so I can follow you. Love this app. love love love. Here’s my Instagrams from our week at one of our favorite places on earth. More pictures to come, but we did a lot in a few days. Santa Barbara Zoo, bike riding, swimming, spa-ing, movie, walks, reading, shopping, eating, oh lots of eating, sleeping. But I always could use more of the sleeping part. Off to do mountains of laundry and edit my adorable nephew’s 10 month photo shoot pictures.
Last night the kids wanted to watch some old videos of when they were little. This one of Greta is from two years ago, and I remember her so vividly at this age. With her 3 year old pronunciation of words and her sweet smile that slowly spreads across her fact. It’s a compilation of her 3 year old preschool performances. I could eat her up. I thought I would share it with all of you to remind us how fast they grow.
Also, I’m signing off for the rest of the week, not as if I’ve really been in this space much recently. But, well, life, it just keeps going without much time to pause. And pausing as a family is what we will be doing for the rest of the week! Biking, hiking, reading, golfing, playing, with lots of eating and sleeping thrown in. See you all next week!
